Software to bring the operation together

Invoicing, collections, and decisions shouldn't live in different places.

An invoice in one system, the customer in another, the report in Excel, and the decision in WhatsApp: that is how operational disorder starts. SIDE builds software and integrations to connect the work your business still holds together by hand.

How an invoice travels through SAFE: issued, signed with the digital certificate, and filed with Hacienda.

The problem

A process that fails isn't a technical problem. It's lost time, revenue that never lands, or both.

A report rebuilt by hand every month-end, an integration that goes down on a Friday, an invoice the tax authority rejects: different names for the same problem. Software that carries an operation isn't judged by its feature list — it's judged by how much human time it wastes, and by what happens when something breaks.

  • What's done by hand eventually breaks

A spreadsheet only its author understands, a report rebuilt from scratch every month-end, a decision made on gut feeling because the data lives in three different systems. It doesn't scale, and the cost doesn't show up until it's already expensive.

  • Half-finished integrations cost twice

A system that talks to the bank but not to the ERP leaves the manual work exactly where it was, and adds one more place to get it wrong.

  • The tax authority doesn't negotiate

Version 4.4 of Costa Rican e-invoicing brings catalogs, tax rates, exemptions and exchange rates that have to be right the first time. A malformed XML is revenue that never lands.

  • With nobody on the other end, software is a liability

The difference between a vendor and a partner shows up at two in the morning, not in the proposal.

Flagship product

SAFE: e-invoicing that is already filing.

Not a pilot, not a mockup. It's the platform Costa Rican companies invoice with every day, compliant with version 4.4 of the tax authority's spec.

  • Hacienda v4.4

    Compliant with Hacienda v4.4

Official catalogs, payment methods, sale conditions, units of measure, discounts, tax rates, exemptions and exchange rates — all applied where they belong, without you needing to know what each one means.

  • Quotes and recurring invoices

The same screen issues a quote, an invoice, or a series that repeats itself every month.

  • Collections

Aging: who owes, how much, and for how long. It is the report that turns a list of invoices into a collections decision.

  • Customers and suppliers

The records behind every invoice, in one place and without duplicates.

  • Products and services

Your own catalog, with taxes and units of measure already sorted out.

  • Dashboard

What went out, what the tax authority accepted, and what is still pending — without opening a report.

Services

What we do when SAFE isn't the answer.

SAFE handles invoicing. The rest of an operation almost always needs something built for it.

  • Custom software

Bespoke systems, purpose-built APIs, and maintenance of applications already running in production.

  • Odoo ERP

Implementation, customization and support. Whatever Odoo doesn't ship with, we build.

  • Electronic invoicing

Tax-authority integration for systems that already exist, without migrating the whole operation somewhere else.

  • Integrations

Connecting what you already run: ERP, banks, e-commerce and third-party services.

  • Artificial intelligence

Process automation and data analysis, pointed at a concrete business problem.

How we work

How we bring order to your operation.

Before building or configuring anything, we understand how your business works. Then we design, test, and support each change so the software does not become another operational problem.

  1. We understand the real process

We map how you invoice, collect, report, or integrate today. We do not start with technology; we start with where time, money, or control gets lost.

  2. We define the minimum to start

We prioritize what gives you order quickly: invoicing, customers, products, users, and base data.

  3. We configure around your operation

SAFE and the integrations are adjusted to your main workflows, not to a generic demo.

  4. We test before touching production

We validate important flows before putting them in front of your team: invoicing, searching, recording, and reviewing.

  5. We support the rollout

We do not leave you alone with a login. We answer real questions while the team starts using the system.

  6. We improve from real usage

After rollout, we review what is missing, what can be simplified, and what is worth automating next.

Behind every delivery: code review, automated tests, visual validation, performance checks, accessibility, and controlled deployments.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us before we start.

Is SAFE compliant with the tax authority's version 4.4?

Yes. SAFE issues invoices under version 4.4 of Costa Rica's electronic invoicing spec, with the official catalogs, payment methods, sale conditions, units of measure, discounts, tax rates, exemptions and exchange rates applied where they belong.

Can I use SAFE if I already have an ERP or an in-house system?

Yes, and you can also integrate only the invoicing part. We connect existing systems to the tax authority without forcing you to migrate your whole operation somewhere else.

Does SAFE work for more than one company?

Yes. SAFE is multi-tenant by design: each company sees only its own data. It is not a settings checkbox, it is how the system is built.

Does it handle quotes and recurring invoices?

Yes. The same screen issues a quote, an invoice, or a series that repeats itself every month.

Do you work with Odoo?

Yes. We do Odoo ERP implementation, customization and support, including integration with Costa Rican electronic invoicing.

Where are you based, and what languages do you work in?

We are based in San José, Costa Rica. We work with local and remote clients, in Spanish and English.

How do I get started?

Message us on WhatsApp or call either of our two numbers. We talk through what you need to solve before proposing anything.

What happens if the tax authority rejects a document?

SAFE shows the actual message the tax authority returned, not a generic error. You fix the document from there and resend it without guessing what went wrong.

Do I need a digital signature certificate to issue invoices?

Yes. In Costa Rica, every electronic document is signed with the taxpayer's digital signature certificate before it is filed with the tax authority, and SAFE uses it to sign each invoice. If you do not have one yet, we walk you through getting it step by step.
